The One 3D platform has also been integrated into Citroën’s La Maison dealerships across India for buyers to experience the 3D system. Just like the online configurator, an advantage of using this system is that dealers do not have to stock and accumulate cars of different colors, variants and interiors. It has been a huge success, as evidenced in the three months since its launch on Citroën India’s website. Over 2.5 lakh of people from several Indian cities such as Bengaluru, Pune and Mumbai explored the C5 Aircross in 3D form.
Commenting on the rapid growth of this system, Saurabh Vatsa, Brand Manager, Citroën India, said: “We are delighted with the customer response to the high definition 3D configurator developed by Eccentric Engine. This extremely realistic viewing experience dovetails very well with our Citroën Confort 360 degree brand philosophy to enhance the overall customer journey through our AnyTime AnyWhere AnyDevice AnyContent [ATAWADAC] strategy. While the new C5 Aircross SUV is our first vehicle to adapt this technology, our continued effort will be to provide Indian customers with unique and ingenious experiences through our brands, reiterating our commitment to be the digital benchmark in the Indian automotive industry.
Eccentric Engineering CEO Varun Shah also said: “We are delighted to partner with Citroën and contribute to their digital journey as they mark their debut in India. While the development of photorealistic CGI images is standard practice in the automotive industry, with the new Citroën C5 Aircross SUV, we have democratized photorealistic 3D visualization for the Internet. It is primarily in the industry not only in India, but across the world. The latest update takes vehicle exploration to a whole new level.
Digital car buying has become a thing now. While not the same as physically going to a dealership, it saves a lot of time for the buyer as it allows a car to be seen at all times. Manufacturers are embracing this trend as well as buyers now want contactless retail and the dealer offered to them. This is the easiest way to do it because it puts the buyer at the center of it and allows a new experience from the comfort of their home. Manufacturers like Renault, up to Mercedes-Benz, offer configurators for all their models. Click here to see Ed configure a Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 with options over Rs 1.5 crore!
