The brains behind Electric Playhouse continue to be visionaries.

The Albuquerque-based company spent its downtime as it was closed to the public to develop new projects.

According to Brandon Garrett, co-founder and vice president of Electric Playhouse, the company partnered with the New Mexico Film Office last year on a project.

This made it possible to use the tax incentive for films and to rehire core members.

Garrett and his team are back with another multimedia game and interactive experience called “The Artist”.

He says Electric Playhouse is a one-of-a-kind immersive and interactive family entertainment destination that leverages art and technology to create gaming experiences for all ages.

“As we continue to work on expanding the concept in various forms across the country, ‘the artist’ represents our first produced version of our very popular immersive dining experience,” said Garrett. “As a startup, the support of the New Mexico Film Office has been key to our success in helping us maintain and develop our talented team located here in Albuquerque. “

Garrett says “The Artist” is an immersive and interactive game / dinner experience that follows a young artist and her travels through Paris.

He explores a thriving relationship and her love for the different styles of art she is exposed to and learns from.

Each class represents both a stage in her artistic career, as well as her relationship and love interest.

The experience offers a paying guest the opportunity to explore various artistic styles and genres, from Impressionism to Modernism, thanks to an interactive table that follows the movements and movements of the guests. The walls of the traveling pop-up game are also mapped by projection, which creates a truly immersive experience.

According to the New Mexico Film Office, the project is in production until the end of July. It also employs seven New Mexicans.

“New Mexico’s creative economy is one of its greatest assets; we are at the epicenter of left and right brains, creators and disruptors, ”says Amber Dodson, director of the New Mexico Film Office. “Electric Playhouse is the essence of the creative culture that exists in our state and their project, an interactive gamified dining experience, will be amazing. Creative projects like this are supported by the New Mexico Cinema Incentive Program and it is very exciting to see local companies like Electric Playhouse using the program for their work as well.
