  • Beyond Van Gogh is one of two immersive Detroit events celebrating the iconic artist.

You remember back in April when we announced a bewildering number of similar immersive events celebrating the life and work of Vincent van Gogh heading for Detroit and you kept yelling at us for not clarifying the difference between competing events based on projection?

Now that we’ve all relaxed, it’s time to see what one of the aforementioned exhibits is all about. The TCF Center will host a seven-week engagement of Beyond Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience, which is one of 50 van Gogh events apparently across the United States Beyond Van Gogh is the vision of Mathieu St-Arnaud (creative director of a Montreal projection-mapping group Normal Studio) and presents 300 iconic works by van Gogh paired with the artist’s music and lyrics.

The event takes place from Friday June 25 to Sunday August 15 at the TCF Center; 1 Washington Blvd., Detroit; vangoghdetroit.com; $ 42.99 +.
