LEMONT — Three longtime State College area favorites will be featured at Lemont Village Green, 133 Mt. Nittany Road, Lemont, during its Friday night concerts.
Jon Rounds, Jerry Bresee and Bruce Truitt will bring their unique brands of music this Friday from 7:30 p.m.
Ice cream cones will be offered by the scouts of troop 367 starting at 7 p.m. Donations for the benefit of the troop are welcome.
Those planning to attend are reminded to bring chairs and a blanket and can also bring a picnic if they wish.
Due to construction on Pike Street, those traveling from the Bellefonte area must come from Struble Road and First Avenue or take Elmwood Street.
Jon Rounds performed with the Rounds Brothers Band; Cartoon; Hughes, Kidder & Rounds and Mathieu, Fox & Rounds. Cartoon played an annual reunion concert of original music at the Central PA Festival of the Arts from 1984 to 2012. Rounds played several songwriter shows at the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville and appeared on a Nashville-based webcast for authors -composers, “The Weird Pro Bend.” His songs have been performed and/or recorded by dozens of artists linked to State College, including Richard Sleigh, Tommy Wareham, Jen Hesketh, Randy Hughes, Glenn Kidder, Jameson Kidder, Kevin Slick, Stacy Tibbetts, Whetstone Run, Morningsong, Backseat Van Gogh, Tahoka Freeway, Northwest Territory and the Beaver Avenue Beggars. He has his own YouTube channel with videos by Chris Younken.
Jerry Bresee is a singer-songwriter, concert presenter and activist in the folk community. As a songwriter, he has released songbooks on CD and streaming media, he has performed on the Millennium Stage at the Kennedy Center, been featured on Folk Alliance as a performer Martin Guitar showcase and has performed regularly in folk, rock, country and jazz bands. in the Washington DC area. He was instrumental in organizing and directing Focus (www.focusmusic.org), an organization supporting and showcasing folk and acoustic music in the Washington, DC area, for 18 years, performing over 400 shows local and national artists on tour. With experience on both sides of the microphone and professional skills as an instructional designer, Jerry brings the perspectives of a performer, writer, talent marketer and professional trainer.
Bruce Truitt is a guitarist, bassist, percussionist and vocalist from Austin, Texas with a long history in the music business as a producer, engineer, designer, instructor, composer, arranger and performer of Blues, Jazz, Big Band, Rock, Country, Folk, Brazilian, Mexican, Middle Eastern and Theatrical Genres. He speaks and sings in Spanish, Portuguese and Russian. His duo, Orfeo, plays an eclectic mix of Mexican, American and Brazilian music. He has some 40 years of experience teaching applied music theory, functional harmony, musical acoustics, performance and composition in college, public and private settings.
