Why Michael Keaton’s Batman still has Burton’s Batmobile

The Flash will bring back Michael Keaton’s Batman, and it has the same Batmobile it had in the Tim Burton movies – but why? We will take a look.

Flash will explore the concept of the multiverse in the DC realm and bring back Michael Keaton’s Batman, who still uses the Batmobile from the 1989 Tim Burton film – but why hasn’t it changed in all these years? The superhero genre has become very popular in recent years thanks to large, connected universes like the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the DC Extended Universe, the latter taking the multiverse path and bringing together almost every movie and TV show. from DC.

While this has already been explored on the TV side of the DC Universe, it will be brought to the big screen in Flash, directed by Andy Muschietti and starring Ezra Miller reprising her role as Barry Allen. Flash seemed to be trapped in pre-production for years, with different directors coming and going due to creative differences, but it eventually went into production in April 2021. Flash is influenced by the Breaking point comic book story and will see Barry Allen travel back in time to prevent the murder of his mother, which has unintended and significant consequences for its timeline. As a result of this and the multiverse, Flash will bring back two versions of Batman: Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton, and the latter doesn’t seem to have changed much over the years.

Photos of the set Flash (which have now been removed from social media) showed the Batmobile and Batcave that Michael Keaton’s character will use, and the premiere is the same as Tim Burton’s Batman and Batman Returns. Burton’s approach to the Caped Crusader was a combination of realism and comic book vibe, with the Batmobile having a very specific and rounder look that made it stand out from other versions of the iconic vehicle. The Batcave in the Burton films has a similar vibe, and The Flash will bring both back, but a big question arises: why hasn’t this Batman changed his vehicle for 30 years?

Michael Keaton Batman Car Batmobile

While it’s entirely possible that he made a few changes to the Batmobile inside, it’s still odd that the exterior remains the same, and there could be a number of reasons for that. Keaton’s Batman might have a hard time forgetting the past, especially since it’s unclear what’s been going on in his life since. Batman Returns, so the Batmobile keeping the same design could indicate trauma in Bruce’s life. On the flip side, it could be that this Batman retired soon after. Batman Returns, which is why his vehicle has remained the same, as he hasn’t used it in years, but Allen’s presence and actions will force him to return to his days as the vigilante of Gotham City. Outside of this cinematic universe, it makes sense that Warner Bros. bring the Batmobile back as it is as it appeals to nostalgia and will surely boost merchandise as Keaton’s Batman is a fan favorite.

Fans will have to wait until the end of 2022 to finally learn how Ezra Miller’s Barry Allen will cross paths with Michael Keaton’s Batman and what the latter has been up to since his last appearance on the big screen, and with that explain why his Batmobile hasn’t. changed a bit. FlashThe story and cast of ‘s have thrilled fans with the many possibilities it can bring to the DCEU, and they are especially excited to see Michael Keaton as the Caped Crusader once again.
